Spring is right around the corner, and you NEED TO BE READY! I love accessorizing my outfits with fun, unique and colorful crochet jewelry pieces. Not only are they eye catching, but they are conversation starters too!

You may be thinking, I don’t crochet ANYTHING smaller than DK weight. You may be thinking, I’ve never held one of those TINY HOOKS let alone tried to crochet with it. YOU MAY BE THINKING IT, but I encourage you to SET ASIDE YOUR FEAR AND RELUCTANCE and JUMP INTO CROCHETED JEWELRY!

I designed this set to be a great “bridge” pattern between you and the rest of your life as a new jewelry/earring crocheter. I’m not kidding. This pattern LOOKS SO GOOD, but it’s so easy to make, even if it’s your first foray into crocheted jewelry.

First, you’ll need size 3 crochet thread. Look closely; it’s not that scary. It’s got about the same number of wraps per inch as a sport weight (2) or fine yarn. I used Curio 3 from We Crochet. It’s got a really nice matte finish to the 100% mercerized cotton. It’s a dream to work with.

Next, grab your 3.5mm (E/4) hook. That’s not SO small. You can handle it! If you feel that the size just won’t work for you, it’s fine to go up to a 3.75mm or 4mm to try and get used to the feel of a smaller hook. But, I will caution you, the tighter your stitches, the neater and more professional your jewelry will look, so try to work down to a 3.5mm hook.
