What’s the best part of Spring? Well, I’m going to go against the norm and say EARRINGS, obviously! You can’t be surprised! In all seriousness, this new crochet earring pattern is completely inspired by spring and the flowers that accompany it.

I designed this crochet earring pattern in Curio #10 from We Crochet. It’s a really FUN thread to use that comes in 22 colors. Each 100 gram ball contains 721 yards of thread for just $3.99. OH MY GOODNESS! Think of all the earrings you could make with that!

I also made up a sample Octavia in Curio #3 from We Crochet. This mercerized cotton comes in 23 colors and makes absolutely phenomenal jewelry as well as larger crochet items such as SKIRTS! (Gotta get my plug in for crocheted skirts where I can!) Each 100 gram ball comes with 295 yards of beautiful thread for only $3.99.

You know what I always say! Don’t LIMIT yourself or your style! You can make my motif earring patterns in any size thread or yarn. You don’t have to use them as earrings either! They make great pendants, appliques, keychains, coasters, hot pads, home décor, and more!

Here’s what you’ll need to make the crochet earring pattern as written. This will result in 1 7/8″-2″ earrings.

Materials

Curio #10 Thread, 19 yards per pair
1.75mm hook
Needle for weaving in ends
2 fish hook ear wires
Flat nose pliers
Aleene’s Stiffen Quik or any brand clear-drying fabric stiffening spray (OPTIONAL)

A Magic Circle Trick for Crochet Earring Patterns

How do you make your magic circle when you start your earrings? After hearing OVER and OVER again people complain in crochet groups about their magic circle’s falling apart, I decided to make a little tutorial since I’ve never once had a magic circle fail on me. If you aren’t sure how to make a magic circle, or you’d just like to make one that is more secure, check out this video! I use single crochets in the video, but the method is the same whatever stitch you are starting with in round 1.

Bonus daughters make excellent models!

I love that Jenny Joy made mini Octavia earrings too! Look how cute they are! Perfect for a tween or even someone who doesn’t like a BIG dangle!

A QUICK Note about Octavia Crochet Earring Pattern

I consider this crocheted earring pattern to be a sister-earring to the All for Magui Earring that I designed last summer. You may remember that pattern as a fundraiser that we used to help fund some of my sister-in-law’s cancer treatments in Mexico. She is now CANCER FREE! Praise the Lord! This pattern is also available in Ravelry and Etsy! Go ahead and check it out!
