Crochet Pattern, Free Mini Modification

Well, if one of your Best Friends You’ve Never Met names a crochet pattern after you, what recourse do you have except to return the compliment? The Oh Susanna Earring pattern is a fun and unique design that incorporates the beautiful side puff stitch (also known as the bead stitch). Susanna, of Fosbas Designs, has been a ROCK in the crochet community for me. She has encouraged, pushed, pulled, and uplifted me for the last year and a half. I’m so grateful for her friendship, and I strive to be as uplifting to her as she is to me. Susanna is the definition of CROCHETMOUS! I hope you enjoy this earring pattern that I’ve named after her.

The earring pattern is really a three-for-one! The original Oh Susanna is my favorite, and I love it so much. It is a mix of both rounds and rows, which gives it a nice semi-circle shape. The texture is phenomenal and works well for both solid and variegated thread.

Oh Susanna works well in solid and variegated thread.

The Colorful Susanna version incorporates a contrasting color for the side puff/bead stitch. It’s bit more challenging, but the effect is spectacular…if I do say so myself!

This pattern modification is available in the PDF which you can purchase through Ravelry and Etsy.

Everyone needs a place to start though, right? The Mini Oh Susanna Earring is just 2 rounds and is the perfect place for a beginning earring maker to dive into! Since it’s small, you can even make it in yarn!
