Hello 2023! It’s time to reveal the very FIRST 2023 crochet design from Bliss This! I have been wanting to design a crochet washcloth or dishcloth for quite some time. First of all, they’re a great beginner project. Second of all, they’re fantastic for showcasing a new, fun, or unique stitch texture. Finally, they are PRACTICAL! Now all that added to the fact that it’s a quick project that you can finish in a day or weekend? Perfect!
If you’re here to get the pattern FREE on January 15, keep scrolling; details are at the end of the post!

If you’ve been paying attention to my recent designs, you may have noticed I’m a fan of alternating half double crochet and slip stitches. This is my own variation of the even moss stitch (I don’t start my rows the same way as traditional even moss stitch). I love the texture that is created with those 3rd loops. However, I wanted to set them apart, so, in this pattern, you’ll see the hdc/sl st sections framed by single crochet stitches. I love how this makes visual of rectangles all over the washcloth.
The Terrebonne Washcloth is dedicated to the memory of my Grandma Edie who was constantly crocheting dishcloths and other useful items for the home. I love the texture in this cloth which is perfect for scrubbing dishes, wiping up spills, or even washing your face. You won’t get bored hooking this fun crochet cloth!
