Here comes another pattern from the Ventanitas Collection! The Ventanitas Bow is a fun and fast project to adorn a gift, decorate your home, or even to attach to a hair barrette. You’ll love how quick and easy this is to make. This is a great stash-buster or scrap-user project! I used size 3 cotton thread, but you can use any yarn and hook! Materials
- Curio 3 from We Crochet
- 100% Mercerized Cotton Thread
- 295 yards / 100 g per ball
- Samples made in Comfrey (28004) & Serrano (27987) 40-50 yards
- 3mm hook
- Tapestry needle
- Blocking Mat and pins
- Spray bottle with water or Aleene’s Stiffen Quik Spray
- Scissors
Special Stitch Instructions
dcCL = Working into same st throughout, [Yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through 2 lps] 2 times, yo, pull through 3 lps on hook.

Notes
- All directions are written in US Crochet Terms.
- Directions in brackets [ ] are to be worked the total number of times written in the pattern.
- Odd numbered rows are RS; even numbered rows are WS.
- Ch 2, dc at the beginning of rows counts as one dcCL.
- Ch 1 at beginning of rows does not count as a st.
- Pattern is worked lengthwise in rows.
- St repeat is multiples of 3 + 2 for the beginning ch, and 3 + 1 for the pattern repeat. Use this if you wish to add or subtract length to bow and adjust assembly as necessary.

Finished Size & Yardage
Gauge is not essential for this project, and finished size will depend on yarn and hooks chosen.
Ribbon length and width before making bow: Curio 3 & 3mm hook = 21” x 1 5/8” | Yardage: 50 yards
Ventanitas Bow Crochet Instructions
Ch 122.
Row 1: Working into back bump of ch, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across – 121 sc.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc in same st (counts as dcCL), [ch 2, sk 2, dcCL] 40 times across – 41 dcCL, 40 ch sp.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first dcCL, [2sc in ch-2 sp, sc in dcCL] 40 times across – 121 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, [hdc, sl st] 60 times across, hdc in last st – 61 hdc, 60 sl st.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across – 121 sc.
Rows 6-7: Repeat Rows 2 & 3.
Fasten off, and weave in ends.
Center Piece Instructions
Ch 5.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st, hdc, sl st.
Rows 2-12: Ch 1, [hdc, sl st] 2 times.
Fasten off, and weave in ends leaving a long tail to sew around bow..
Blocking
Spray piece with water and pin in place to dry. Alternatively, a fabric stiffening spray such as Aleene’s Stiffen Quik Spray can be used.
Assembly
1. Fold the bow in half so that short ends meet.
2. Count 9 ventanitas (windows) from the bottom and seam between the 9th and 10th windows across the short length.
3. Lay bow flat so there is a loop and a tail on each side. Wrap the remaining yarn from the seam around to create the center of the bow.
4. Place the Center Bow Piece over this wrap and sew in place with joining seam at the back of the bow.
5. Adjust bow as desired and attach to desired item (gift bag, bunting, hair barrette, etc…)
