Crocheted Earrings in 10 minutes or Less: Free Tutorial

Supplies and examples of earrings made folloiwng this tutorial

Do you ever make something so cute and fun that you have to repeat the process more than 50 times and you still want to make more? That’s how it is with these Sweetie Pie Earrings. In less than 10 minutes, you have the perfect accessory or gift. This is one that you can literally make and wear the same day–the same hour even! I just sent my husband off on a trip to visit his family in Guatemala with 51 pairs of these earrings to pass out to family and friends, and it didn’t even take me that long!

This is a beginner friendly pattern. Even if it is your first time making crocheted earrings, you won’t have any trouble!

Materials

Abbreviations & Stitch Key

  • ch – chain
  • lp – loop
  • sc – single crochet
  • st(s) – stitches
  • yo – yarn over

Instructions

Insert your hook into the metal hoop, yo, twist hook to create a closed lp, pull through the hoop and create a ch over the hoop.

Round 1: Working over beginning tail, [3 sc, ch 2] repeat around until hoop is full, remove hook from working lp, insert hook from back to front of first sc, pick up working lp, pull through, cut thread, pull through and tighten.

NOTE: for my earrings, I did 9-10 repeats for the 20 mm size, 11-12 repeats for the 25 mm size and 14-15 repeats for the 30 mm size. It does not matter how many repeats you do as long as you cover the whole hoop and make the same number of sts on your second piece.

Thread needle with end tail and pass through several sts to hide end and secure. Trim ends.

Using your needle nose pliers, open the loop on the earring hook to the side, insert 1 st from the ch 2 section of your piece, close the loop.
