YAY for summer crochet! The thing I love about many of the items I choose to crochet in the summer (earrings, bags, skinny scarves, tops) is that you can really use them all year round. That’s also the case with the Pericia Headband Scarf. It doesn’t need to be summer for you to tie your hair back or wear a skinny, decorative accessorizing scarf! This crochet scarf pattern is perfect in however many colors you wish of sport weight yarn and has 3 width options! Of course, you can customize the length as well! As written, the long headband/wrap/skinny scarf in 3 widths are approximately 1.75”, 2.5”, and 3.25”, and 74 inches long.

Yarn Recommendations!
I originally designed this beauty with Kelbourne Woolens Mojave Sport Weight Yarn. It’s a lovely cotton and linen/flax blend yarn. However, if you can’t get your hands on that, you can try any yarn that you wish. I do recommend a sport weight, especially for use in summer as well as something that is cotton or a blend of cotton. Linen blends would also work really well for this pattern.
Shine Sport from We Crochet comes in a plethora of gorgeous colors and is a blend of 60% Pima Cotton and 40% Modal natural beech wood fiber. I haven’t had a chance to use this yarn yet, but you’d better believe it’s on my list!
A Star is Born: Oh Baby Organic from Lionbrand is a perfect organic cotton yarn that would make stunning Pericias. I have a few of these Oh Baby skeins in my collection, and I love them!
Do you prefer to work with acrylic? Try out Mary Maxim Pastoral Knits Yarn. This sport weight acrylic yarn comes in pastel colors that create subtle patterning when worked up. This would be a lovely choice if you’d like to have a bit of color changing without having to switch yarns!
Materials Needed
You will need approximately 185/285/385 yards of sport weight (2) yarn
(I used 2 colors, about 85+/- of one and100+/- of another for the skinny width).
G+ (4.5mm) hook
Stitch markers. You’ll want to use stitch markers on every 10 rows so that you can keep track of where you are in the pattern.
NOTE: You can use any weight of yarn and appropriate hook, but keep in mind that your measurements and yardage will be different.
How to Wear It
I’m just going to showcase how the testers wore theirs because they did such an AMAZING JOB! Wrapped, hanging, headband, scarf…however you wear it, it looks amazing!
