I love holidays, but I am the first to admit that I absolutely DO NOT love decorating for them. This year, I’ve turned over a new leaf and have filled my house with holiday decor! (It’s a lie. I crocheted 2 heart-themed patterns and hung them up! HA!) You can check out the Ventanitas Heart that I used to make a bunting for across my fireplace mantel and get the free pattern HERE. I also have a free heart coaster that you can check out HERE.

In less than 30 minutes, you can create a fun crocheted heart ring that is perfect for Valentine’s Day, decorating, or gifting.
Supplies
- 1mm thick Cotton Craft Cord (I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but this will work too with many more colors available) Alternatively, you can use any worsted weight or bulky yarn.
- 3.5mm hook or 4.5mm hook (I used 3.5mm but wish I’d used a 4.5mm because my sts were VERY tight!)
- Heart ring metal hoop (I got mine at Hobby Lobby and it’s just under 8″; these Amazon hoops are just slightly bigger)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Needle nose pliers

Stitches and Abbreviations
- ch(s) = chains
- lp = loop
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- yo = yarn over
Written Instructions
Make slip knot, insert hook through metal ring, attach slip knot to hook, sl st around ring.
Round 1: Working over metal ring and yarn tail, [3 sc, ch 2] around ring circumference until completely covered, do not cut yarn.

Create a long ch (I used 39 chs but make as many as you want. This is to create the loop to hang your heart.), cut yarn.
Remove hook from working lp, insert hook from back to front in first sc made, pick up working lp, and pull through, yo, and pull yarn end all the way through and tighten.
Weave in and trim ends. If needed, use needle nose pliers to gently tug the needle through tight sts.
