Whether it’s February or just a random month of the year, love is always in style. It’s never the wrong time to make a heart!
My February Heart earrings are a 2-round EASY pattern that look fantastic in both thread and yarn. If you’ve been putting off crocheting earrings, I want to encourage you to give this one a go! I recommend starting with a worsted weight yarn and a 3 or 3.5mm hook. It might seem strange to start with a hook that small, but the secret to crocheted earrings is definitely TIGHT STITCHES. When you are comfortable, try a thinner yarn and a smaller hook. Little by little, you can eventually work with thread and a 1.75mm hook–or even smaller.

Pattern Notes
All directions are written in US Crochet Terms.
- Gauge is not essential for this project. The length of your earrings will depend on how tight or loose your stitches are as well as how many hearts you dangle.
- Sts in parentheses ( ) should be worked into the same st.
- Sts in brackets [ ] should be worked into 2 sts.
- Work Round 1 into the ch-circle and over the tail of thread. This will allow you to tighten the circle to the desired circumference.
- This pattern can be worked in any size crochet thread, embroidery thread or yarn and the appropriate hook. Experiment with different size threads and hooks to achieve smaller or larger earrings, pendants, bookmarks, or decorations.
Instructions

*For the [sc, dc2tog, sc], work the first leg of the dc2tog in the same stitch as the sc. The following sc will
be worked in the same st as the second leg of the dc2tog.
Weave in all ends, adjust the center circle of the hearts by gently pulling the tail, and trim ends. Continue
to Blocking and Assembly instructions.
Blocking & Assembly
Stiffen earrings
Place earrings on wax paper on a flat surface or blocking mat. Spray both sides of earrings with stiffening
spray. Adjust shape (pin to block if desired). Wait for earrings to dry.

Assembly
Connect as many hearts as you want. Open the jump rings, slip the top of one heart and the bottom of
another heart into the rings. If you are having trouble slipping the hearts on jump rings, insert a needle into the place you want to add the jump rings and create a small hole in which to slip the ring.
Open the loops on the earring hooks with your flat nosed pliers. Slip the earring loop through any st at the top of the earring. Close the earring hook loops with the flat nosed pliers.
Your earrings are done! Enjoy!

Love This Earring? Try These!

This is what I like to call a One-Round-Wonder! Chispa means SPARK in Spanish and this is the pattern that sparked my earring designing obsession. It’s the first earring pattern that I published and it’s perfect for newbie earring crocheters as well as people who feel very confident working with thread. As you can see, it looks great in every size (pictured: worsted, dk, sizes 3, 10 and 20) .

This mini-version of the Oh Susanna Earring are so sweet and another one that can easily be made with yarn for new crocheters. I recommend smaller patterns for yarn work up because they don’t end up SO BIG that you don’t want to wear them. Remember, tight stitches are your friends, but BLOCKING is your BESTY! 😉 Enjoy this mini version free on the blog or purchase the PDF for the full version of the earring.
